Hi there

Long story short, I'm in Beenleigh Brisbane are and found a rubber fuel line burst and leaking oceans of diesel.

It's a D2 04 and the fuel hose fund parallel to the engine front to back on the drivers side behind the dipstick. The rubber is spliced on both ends to steel pipe and both ends failed in a fantastic fashion.

I am supposed to drive back to central Qld in the morning but this will slow me down. Please advise on a possible fix as it is Xmas day

I tried to load pics to no avail. Apologies if some info is unclear due to my haste.
Oh, I have a toolbox and some mechanical skill and merry xmas

That's the return line so lowish pressure. Perhaps you can use long nose pliers to fit some normal flexible fuel hose and clips. (I managed to change mine.)

Hi Greame

Yea thanks for that. I wasn't keen to cut the hose but after looking at the situation I'm in it had to be done.

So I salvaged some hose from my Jetski (thanks Honda...how embarrassing) and a couple of clamps the job is done and so far so good. I hope it holds up.

Thanx again!

Will rescue tape do the job??

Cheers,

And while you are checking fuel hoses on the D2 have a look with a torch and mirror at the lines above the fuel tank to check they are not rubbing on each other. These often leak as well.
