Agree about those 2 movies. The Sapphires was tops and great music. Jessica Mauboy is one hell of a singer.

Yep, The Saphires is a great little film.
A little 5 degrees of separation trivia.
A friends sister used to date Chris O'Dowd (Dave, the Irish manager) when he was doing TV comedy back in the UK

I love Aussie movies. Will have to see Red Dog. They are just so relatable (is that a word??) to name a few of my favorites, The Castle, The Nugget, Bootmen, The Dish. Love the realism to them and the dry Aussie humor.

Any "New Australian" would like the movie They're a Weird Mob. Is a collectors movie that I would love to have in my collection (at a reasonable cost :( )

That is one of THE classic aussie movies. I used to have a copy of the book, written by John O'Grady I think, that my grandfather gave to me when I was in my early teens.
Have a search on Isohunt, you may be able to download it. If not, let me know and I can send a copy down to you on cd.
