About 1/2hr ago I was only thinking "Steve said I'd be keeping that bloody 300Tdi going...."

I shouted her a new alternator a month ago, and the timing belt is supposed to be happening this week (although I already have real jobs lining up from early tomorrow morning) and there's a new head gasket ready and.......

Bastard :p

I'm gonna spoil her rotten.
She'll be getting her present next year.
Don't know whether to go the hd axles & cvs or the Allisport intercooler.
Maybe both if I'm feeling generous.
I'm in qld atm & the longer I'm away the more i miss her.
Might get my car something too.

Hi All

I am the last of the big spenders :D - I have organised a brake light switch for the 300 tdi wagon :):D

I think the old girl needs more time than money spent on her - now if I had some spare land rover parts laying around :):D and some time to work on her a bit too :( there's a chance she could be a good thing and Dmdigital I like the bling too mate - Hope you had a good Christmas and it continues into the New Year

She's getting a belated pressie. Have been wanting this for a while, but funds and time have been low,, but now, no more procrastinating :(

After having yet another cigi lighter lead crap itself whilst trying to run the fridge, Drivesafe,, here I come for a Duel Bat system :D
Will order this as soon as I get home. Half arsed wiring is really the pits.

@dmdigital, You cannot beat a bit of bling, are those the Croytec bezels and gear stick tops? **EDIT** Yes I see they are. Just clicked that you use a different username on a UK forum. Very nice bits of kit from Croytec, check out the black Croytec anodized window blocks in the bottom pics. ;)

X-mas seems an ongoing affair for the Defender. Over the last month or so added a set of Speaker 8700 Evolution, the rear SVX style turnsignals, and the rear LED number plate light. So the rear of the car is now fully LED except for the 3rd brake light which still does not seem to exist in LED version. The Speakers and the rear LED turn signals are perfect, but I am a little less impressed by the Perei LED rear number plate lamp which to my liking emits a bit too much blue-ish light. The good thing though is that it consumes only 0.5W instead of 2x4W power, so less current running via the light switch.....
As soon as there would be a first class LED alternative for the front aux high beam for my SVX lights set up, would still get that as a belated X-mas present:p.

Brian, why wouldn't you go straight away for the SVX style rear lights set up instead? You can have those from Tim also all as clear lenses, or as a mix of coloured and clear, as you please.... Not much more money I think, and they are really a superior product, and would look good on your truck:BigThumb:

If you don’t mine me asking, ‘Which cruise control set up did you go for?’

Not at all! It was installed by MR Automotive at Redcliffe. Didn't come with a lot of documentation so im not sure what "kit" they have used. Standard cruise control stalk comes off the RHS of the steering wheel column, and there is a lovely green light that comes on when in use...

Addit: paperwork says it is an "e-cruise" kit. I'll try to attach a pic or two.

N plus one,

Have you fitted the wheel carrier, what do you think of it?

I am seriously considering buying one it definitely looks to be a quality unit. I am also considering the Mantec that Mulgo sells. If the Rijidij is worth the extra $ I will go for it but without seeing them in the flesh its a hard decision to make apart from advice given by people such as yourself who have the product.

Thanks

Finished fitting it yesterday - it's definitely a quality item and I'd happily spend the money on the same again

Also, I believe Mulgo's advice is that if you want to carry anyhting more than a spare (i.e. hi lift, or even a big muddie) then thee Riji is the preferrable option.

Apologies for my late reply. Only got home at the end of January.
Anyway. Rigid Industries 1300 Dually’s LEDs installed. They work well. Still haven’t used them out in the middle of the sticks, ‘Possibly’ the 2600’s might be a bit better? It’s hard to say? Could also be too much light?
Happy with what I got.

Ron B. the second photo is of the ‘diode box’ I ended up making up to control the lights with three separate switches and then though a relay.
Not the prettiest, but does the job.
