Has anyone fitted a Stone Stomper to their D3/Camper trailer and had any problems with it? I have the standard plough tow kit and the camper has a hyland hitch on it.
Anything special to note or watch out for?

Ashes I use one but I have a Mitchell Bros hitch. Works effectively with no stone damage to the rear of the Disco.
Cheers

I have one that also is used with a Mitch hitch and went all the way up to the cape, including doing the tele track with it on with absolutely no dramas. The netting even caught some small fish as we were going through a couple of the creeks! :D

Nearly there with the Stone Stomper.

After speaking with Christian I need to have 85mm clearance from the centre of the tow ball to the back of the car. The D3 barely has this with the standard tow kit.

One option I have is to get a new tow ball tongue that extends out a bit further from the tow hitch assembly. Anyone see any problems with this..surely the LR square tongue is a standard size....

I would say the further away from the car the tow ball is the greater the effect your tow ball weight will have on the car. That is less weight on the front wheels. Don't know how much further you need to extend beyond the standard hitch or to what degree things would be effected.
