Hey all

I was driving my 110 trayback from GC to Toowoomba. In one of the many 100km/h - 80km/h sections, I was slowing under engine braking, down to about 80km/h when the front right hit a fair pot hole. This sent that wheel into a horrible up/down vibration/harmonic where I thought the rim must have a huge bend in it or something come VERY loose or wrong. As I slowed further under braking, it slowed and only stopped at about 15km/h.....

poof, gone like that...drove off and all good. This has happend once before.

Im guessing its just all things aligning so that it was set into its natural frequency.

not a nice feel though :(

You need to reco your swivel housings. Sounds like the correct symptoms when you have a bit of slack in the railko bush on the top. Possibly can be fixed by removing a shim or two from under the pin and tightening it a bit.

Almost certainly swivels, although other problems can exacerbate it. (wheel balance, tie rod ends, loose wheel bearings, steering damper etc)
