Yep we've been forecast for 43 / 44 degrees over the next couple of days up here in Kal. At the moment it's registering 38 on the thermometer under the back verandah at 10:00am.

I drive back down to Perth on Wednesday when it's forecast to hit 44 up here but only 27 in Perth - so an early departure is looking good and I'll be heading into a cool change. :D

Geeeez, you southern marshmallows! It's about that up here and with super-duper humidity as well. Which is no doubt why I'm sitting under the aircon using the computer. Actually, I've taken off a few weeks to finish the Rangie, so it's outside for about an hour, then inside to drink and rest, and then outside again. I tell ya, this is no place to rebuild a car.

Believe it or not, Safety Bay, it has got cooler now though, 12.35 and only 36

Davo, if you're in Fitzroy Crossing I send you my sympathies, been there and it's no place to work on a vehicle in that heat.

Been stinking hot for over a week here Richard.Trying to get the boat ready for a south coast spell, just too hot to be outside.

Yep, it's a warm one today again. I've been welding and grinding a repair to a swing away rear wheel carrier in the shed. Definitely warm work! Then working on the 86" Series 1 to remove the thermostat housing, once again inside an uninsulated tin garage. Sweating buckets.
My faithful long haired German Shepherd has even taken to abandoning me for the air-con in the house with the wife ... traitor!

I feel for you - I've been whinging bitterly about being outside for the last 3 days replacing the balustrading on our front verandah, and it's only (!) been 30-32 degrees. That's hot enough!

Mind you, it was 45+ in the uninsulated tin roofed shed where we were cutting all the timber to size. :firedevil:

I'm about to cry. Making me homesick, all this talk about heat & humidity.
Now living in Melbourne after almost 20 years in Cairns. I complained yesterday about the cold breeze, and was told I was mad.

Wishing you all A Happy & Prosperous New Year. Heaven knows we will all need it owning a Landrover[bigsmile1]

It's been very mild here so far, what I don't get is the media going on about a 'heat wave' when we have one day at 38. It's like they have all forgotten it is actually summer...

Looking at a couple of warm ones coming up, but nothing like what the west is copping....

Stay cool - Gav.

Glad there is climate control and a pool 10 feet from the back door as the wifes on nite shifts.

I wonder how long till "Just dropped by for a visit" from our summer friends.

Yeah, but look at your apparent temperature.

Fairly chilly 32.9*.

Apparently Brissie's only about 4* behind you.

Spending the day in the pool with my girls. Best way to handle the heat.

Bears nothing to reality.

But yes, would be uncomfortable up your way :)

A tad cooler hear today, mainly due to the wind, much more humid than it has been,Ex cyclone Mitchell is heading for the south west corner wich is cooling things down.
Boat is now ready for the fishing trip:cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:,BlackBettys turn tommorow,up on the hoist at work to look up her skirt to see everything is OK under there, she has been marking her territory a bit more than normal:(:(:(:(,hoping its just that time of the month.

I think people have lost sight of a little truth, judging by the number of "suck it up" type comments. You see, people live in places like Darwin, Coober Pedy, Karratha, FNQ, etc, etc despite the weather. People live in Perth (or even can extend that to "the South West") because of the weather. The recent heat that everyone here is complaining about was a 70 year record, not the usual weather of places I would not choose to live. How long since you had a 70 year record of weather pattern broken?

Mind you, I don't mind the heat (grew up living in Kenya as a kid) and it's a damn sight better than cold rain and hot humidity I left behind across the Tasman! I love it here:cool:!

Mate... 7 days over 37°c is hardly an event worthy of anything!

They all complain when it's hot or when it's cold!!!!

Regardless of choice of residence it's not a huge record...

Plenty of "over 36" days as well but it doesn't count as a record!
