TRUCK DRIVER TANKED: About 9pm last night police at Wudinna on the Eyre Peninsula had a call from a truck driver who said that while checking his load he had fallen into a rainwater tank he was transporting and that he had been stuck inside it for about 30 minutes. Police suspected the call was a prank but headed to the scene near Kyancutta to check it out. To the surprise of the officer from the Eyre and Western Local Service Area a truck was found parked in the spot described by the driver, with a “slightly distressed voice” echoing out of a tank on the back. Police tried to pull the driver out, but were unsuccessful. A Kyancutta local came to their assistance with a ladder and happily the uninjured driver was successfully “de-tanked.”
