Ratio's manual/auto transferbox

Hi is there any differance between the manual transfercase to auto's tranfercase or between diesel and petrol.
I have both, I want to put V8 and auto into my 87 County and want the best low range.

Low range in all LT230's is the same, high range had some variations between RRC and county.
