I need some help in finding out how to remove the inner spindle on my old Mill Drill, it's a ToolMac, I bought it new back in 1987, it has served me well over the years making small things for my live steam loco etc.
About 2 years ago I was using it with an end mill, I must have forgot to tighten the head up, with the end result the end mill dug in and spun the head, stalled the motor. I switched it off very smartly, the job was ruined :(:( well what could I say, it was my fault:mad:.
Here is the unit

I have removed the 2 drive belts, and undone the large nut at the top of the spindle

I noticed that there is no keyway in the pulley, nor any lockscrews, ?? so would the pulley be sitting on a taper, and more to the point do I have to remove the pulley, to get the inner spindle out!!??.
The lower end of the spindle with the morse taper, runs out at around 6-8thou, prior to this it ran with no runout,

I put that drill chuck in yesterday just to see if it was indeed the inner spindle and not my collet chuck that I was using at the time.
I have tried googling 'ToolMac' spares but I can't find anything:eek:. any help pointers appreciated, thanks Dennis:(
