Hi All
Has anyone had a 2.75" straight through exhaust fitted recently? Price?
Had 3" on my last TD5 - but been advised to go back to 2.75".
Can l get 2.75"? or stick with 2.5"?
The TD5 will have a TRS ECU upgrade as well.
Thanks,
Mike

I just removed the centre muffler on my old Td5 Deefer sounded great ;)

Oh ok....
Does that allow the turbo to spool up a little more freely?

Any derestriction is good in my books , I thought so but that might have just been the wow factor (sound);)

I recently replaced the cat on the downpipe and the middle pipe with straight through pipes, kept the rear section with small box. I beleive they are the same size as the original pipes.
They are made by Terra Firma and made out of stainless steel. It does seem to be improved in acceleration,spools up quicker, very slightly noisier but not in an annoying droneing way.All up I am pretty happy with it;)

Why were you told to remove your 3" exhaust.
I had a3" Mandel bent system put in with a high flow muffler & my car runs real sweet. heeps more responsive.
Id never go back to the standard system.

Sorry - l had a 3" on a previous TD5 I have since sold.
BUT since reading many views on here and chats with some other people - it is advised generally not to run 3" on tuned Td5s??
Just wanted to know if to stay with the factory standard 2.5" or go 2.75" straight through.
I agree totally - the 3" was fantastic!!!!!!!! And had a great note....and great turbo spool!

So - local exhuast shop said he can not do 2.75"
Either 2" or 3".
He suggested that a resonator that will give the TURBO some back pressuer might be best with the 3" otherwise 2" straight through.
2" = $300
3" = $700 (with resonator)
Anyone else got 2" straight through??
Does the 2" allow for faster turbo spool up? Bit of a nicer sound?
Thanks,
Mike

2 inch:eek:?

If you went 2.5 i dont really see the need for it, just remove the centre mufler and cat if fitted.

If you plan on doing some decent power upgrades 3 inch is the go in my veiw.

Have a search there are lots of threads regarding it.

Pm me if you want anymore info as the td5 exhuast size thread normally ends in an e-fight.
