Hi all,

Got a set of shocks and springs Terrafirma medium lift for just $350. Didn't really want the "lift" but the price was good. Got them fitted at a local mechanic and ended up with a groaning noise in the rear when I hit just over 80kmh and when i dropped down passed the same speed. The mechanic's advice was to avoid the highway.

Went back to the Shock people and was advised the following

"We don't normally have any issues with rear prop shaft heights on Countys.
If you get diff binds you normally get it from the front and normally only on the later Defender models 07 onwards.
We sell the 3 degree caster correction radius arms (TF508) for the front only but we never have had any problems and have sold loads and have also fitted hundreds through our workshop.

We suggest maybe trying the prop shaft spacer kit (DA6339) first before trying the radius arms."

I know i should just drive down the Highway to a certain landrover "Guru"
to sort it but i thought i would ask the "panel" first

How high ?

In other words, what height between the bump stop (assuming it's stock) and axle pad in the front ?
Is it above 105-110mm ?

Sounds more like a driveshaft vibe and it's at the right speed.
If so, you'll need a DC joint (double cardan) in the front driveshaft, similar to what's fitted to DII's.

Plenty of info here on them, best option ATM appears to be a custom DC driveshaft from Tom Woods in the US or maybe Gibsons here ?

Other thing to check, are the front uni's out of phase ? (as they should be)
Someone hasn't pulled the driveshaft out and re-assembled it with the uni's in line, have they ?

As you can see I,m not very mechanically minded. I had a AYG7332 Shaft propellor fitted.
