Anyone else had this

Gday All

Drove today in 44 degrees for most of the day and the car went faultless until we stopped to camp the night, pulled up and let the car wind down and when I turned it off I couldn't get the key out of the ignition. Turned the car on and back off and still the same result. Started the car moved forward say 2 feet and turned it off and presto key came out first try.

Is it something I did or has anyone had this happen to them.

Thanks Terry but am sure it wasn't as it started as soon as I turned the key back the other way. Anyway after today's drive and my fried eyeballs anything is possible . Thanks for the reply

I find the same happens to me if I quickly turn off the car and haven't put the shifter into park completely, I just push the shifter up a bit more and bobs your uncle the key comes out.

Ean - I sometimes get this issue with my RRS - is in park, sometimes I have to put my foot on the brake - is always fixed by putting the key to accessories and then off and the key comes out.

Other that it being a bit annoying sometimes I have not really gicen it much thought until you mentioned it.

Oh, but then again it has that fob thingy that i dislike....

Has happened to me a couple of times in my RRS, just thought I was being a bit quick for it, a quick on & off and all was good. BTW, used to own a merc, don't ever try to remove the key with your foot on the brake in one of those!
