Is that an updated Commodore V8 motor? Shame they didn't look further along in the GM catalogue for the powerful motors. Sounds like it'll be a nice car though!

What annoys me the most is that in the US you could get one of these for the price that we would pay for a new Defender here.

You don't need the complication. have a look at what Nascar teams and the sprint car fraternity do with pushrod small blocks. 900+ horsepower and Nascar run them in heavy cars for 500 miles at 200 mph. I wonder what speeds sprint cars reach nowadays on the long banked ovals like Terre Haute, a one mile high banked clay oval. They were pulling 140 mph laps there in the early 70's.

what annoys me is that it is a Ferrari clone......and a bad one to boot :o
maybe it's just me, but I don't really like that much at all ... no matter how fast it is. Maybe it will be better in the metal?
Oh ... and 7 gears? really? It's just too many :p

Bloody steering wheel's on the wrong side of it ................ :D
Seriously - looks nice. Think it will be a long time before we see them over here though.
I'll post up a pic or two of a nice one that I was looking at the other day - camera's at work so can't do it now.

I agree. I am putting a 6 speed box in my WB ute but even that is overkill.

Yes, but have you seen what they paid for a Defender when it was available there?

they did have a DOHC model back in the 90's I think...when they owned Lotus.
but this one has direct injection, variable valve timing etc. Thats pretty good for an old pushrod
