Hey guys, had a very spongy brake pedal, did a complete bleed seemed to have a bit of air in it and was a bit dirty, pedal came back all was good, now it brakes normally no prob but jump on the brakes pedal goes very hard and abs wont come on, its so hard it seems like someones stuck a brick under pedal, no abs light comes on, any testing i can do without nanocom, abs relays , vacuum booster etc etc
Cheers

Sounds like you might have air in the modulator. Mine did something similar after the master cylinder was replaced - pedal was rock hard all the time. The mechanics (who were the dealers preferred firm, not LR specialists) ended up fully bleeding the system 2-3 times to get the brakes working properly.

Sounds like you need a modulator "power bleed". (which I did after doing option B).
You need a nanocom or the like (some do it by using the abs relay,!!!!, not recommended)
What happens is that while your foot is hard down on the pedal the nanocom pulse activates the ABS modulator and dispels air from inside the modulator into the brake lines, then you bleed brakes as per normal and you have a air free system.

if the pedal is rock hard you've lost the booster vac for one reason or another and its not letting you get enough brake pressure up to brake hard enough to cause the wheels to slip, no wheel slip means no abs activation.
or your smashing the pedal into the floor.
you dont actually have a brick under the pedal do you?

Thanks for the reply, as i cant drive at the moment i have been told that the pedal feels normal but if you push hard as in enuf to initiate abs the pedal becomes rock hard and would not pull veh up,
Cheers
