I rang MLR to see about getting a towbar fitter to my 2012 110.
The very helpful bloke in parts quoted $462 for the kit, including wiring etc. Wow, way less than expected. :)
Then he put me through to Service dept to see about getting it fitted. Another helpful bloke said he would find out and let me know. He called back a bit later and advised $1182 for supply and fit. :(

That's $720 to fit a towbar! WT_??? Hate to think what a service co$ts...

Anyone know how big a job it is? Is this something I could do at home? Or can you suggest somewhere more realistic? (Near Tullamarine Vic)
Thanks,
John.

John,

I bought the OEM towbar (MY10 90) from the dealer for a very reasonable price and my local Opposite Lock dealer fitted it for $180 + $35 for the plug and bits.

The towbar would have been/ is really easy, it's the "electric string" I wasn't gone to try myself!

If you want to fall on your back, just for laughs get your dealer to quote you the OEM winch and kit complete installed! Close to a small country's defence budget!:D

Cheers,

Lou

took me about an hour all up to fit the bar and wire a round and a flat in so id have both without the need for adapters, i spent about $20 on water proof connectors which i used on the 'hidden' plug after cutting the stock connector off.

if you want you can order a harness that will plug into that 'hidden' plug for about $70 plus $50 shipping from the UK then its plug and play and a few bolts = happy days

my dealer quoted more for the tow bar and more for fitment, so i got my kit from Mr Automotive (same price as your dealer quoted) and fitted myself.

(if you do get somewhere like opposite lock to fit, advise them of the hidden plug and ask them to use that instead of scotch locking into your tail lights)

plug into that 'hidden' plug

What is this hidden plug?
And (if it's not a stupid question) where is it hidden?
Thanks

drivers side rear wheel arch, behind the filler neck there is a plastic 'plate' 2 screws, undo this and you will see the plug up there, its easier to get in and see if you take the wheel off. . . well with a 90 it is anyway might not need to with a 110.

this is someone else s post but it shows the plug on there's.
