View Full Version : TDV6 owners - what's this thing?

Check the attached photo - it looks like a vacuum diaphragm, only the vac line is missing from it. I can't see any loose vac lines around there so I'm wondering where it is supposed to go to. What does yours look like? This is an 8A RRS TDV6 2.7. It's at the top rear of the passenger side cylinder head.

Just had a look through the manual and can see it in a couple of drawings  near the HP fuel pump but can't find any reference to what it does!
Not much help i'm afraid.

No vac hose to mine either and non off around it. Looks like a preasure reg that would be at the end of a fuel rail that would need a vac hose to open it. Mine runs fine, would not panic;)

Where did you get your workshop manual Barry? Is it any good? I'd find one really useful I think!

I have two. They are part of the LH and RH valve covers, both have spigots that  arent used
Here is another  picture from the maual showing how they are part of the cover.
Ive had a quick scan but cant figure out what they are meant to do?

Could be a Diff, T/Case or even G/Box breather.
