Hello everyone!!
I've recently removed my air-con condenser off the front of my 1994 300TDI Defender because the engine was overheating due to lack of air flow over the brand new radiator. The condenser is basically a sold lump of 19 years worth of insect guts and salty sand.... with some aluminium fins and pipes buried somewhere ... : ) The engine temp instantly fell from round 94C round town driving in Alice Springs to 83C even in the current 40 - 44 temps.
I went to the local Land Rover dealer and it seems that the part is no longer available due to the manufacturer going out of business. The part number is a Sandon MFC-2068AE. Does any one know where I might be able to source a new replacement?
I was reading a thread here a while ago regarding a view that this Sandon MFC-2068AE condenser has fins that are very close and restrict the air flow through the radiator even when they are clean! If the above part is not available any more does anyone know where to get a replacement that will still work as a condenser for the stock compressor/evaporator but may require me to modify the mounts?
Thanks heaps!!! I really appreciate this forum.
