Hey guys been working on the P38 I bought that someone was going to break for spares.. long story short.. cut-out rot and re-welded the chassis, had engine rebuilt with top hat lined block..lifted body 2".. the list goes-on and on as the bank balance keeps going down and down!!

I have 50 mm wheel spacers, 285/75/16 tyres but here in Scotland we need to cover the wheels / tyres to keep it legal, now have seen a silver P38 here with arch extensions fitted and read in Lucky 8 posting either RRC or Disco 2 arches will fit the P38.

Please can someone who has fitted arch extensions to a P38 let me know which work best, what you needed to cut or modify to fit them and any pictures showing how they fit/look on the P38.

Thanks in advance.

There is a genuine part / Kit which is discontinued, STC8514. You might be lucky and find a set somewhere, a quick google shows a seller in the USA.

bit off topic, but I'm curious to know where a P38 rots? Over in Oz we don't get that happening, but as it gets older it's good to know where the weak spots are

Salted roads in winter and no waxoil = rotted chassis rails?

BTW: Welcome to the forum Haggisbiker... hope to hear more from you!:D

We are going to use the new Terrafirma D2 flares. They fit but not perfectly

Thanks for all your replys, I looked at the ones made for Range Rover but they do not give me a wide arch that I need.

The rust here is indeed due to poor wax treatment and salt that they use on the roads, the main rust points were at the top or the rear shocks at the top mounts, I have some pics I took and to say they had rotted... you would have thought the shock mount had multi mount holes not just the one!!

Just a note for anyone replacing them..you can cut access panels in the floor or like I did space the body 2" off the chassis.. but with the weather you guys get perhaps you will never need to do them!!
