Hi
Anyone know this bloke, his vids on YouTube are very good. Well worth watching if you haven't done so already.
Wouldn't mind having a chat with him if someone has a contact for him.

Cheers

Request was more for info on the person, videos were just for info.
There are 60 + videos of d2, d3/4, RR and series landies.

Just type in "kevdrover" in YouTube, they will come up.

Cheers
Kev:D

It's not especially difficult to type "kevdrover youtube" into google. First result gives you the link:

KevDrover's channel - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/user/KevDrover)

I'll probably cop an infraction for inappropriate language now because one of the mods will happen to look at one of 66 video's he's posted and find someone swearing :( Which might go someway to explaining Kev's reticence to post a link.

Sorry guys, my bad, no I don't recall any nasties in the videos. It's better than your average punter and most of the videos are about 15-20 mins long.

As stated, my op was more about getting in touch with kevdrover than the actual vids, the comments on his videos was partly an afterthought hence no link. Again, my bad.

Cheers Paul

In addition I'm pretty sure I saw some wheelspin in some of those Vids. Obviously these guys are young idiots, who should cease all 4wd activity immediately, and take lessons on driving, in a suitably respectful manner, from the veterans on this site.

Hi Kev,

Don't sweat mate, comments weren't directed at you.

Just making observation that there is a good reason not to post links to youtube user accounts without having vetted all the content they have posted.

cheers

Dunno about that. The videos feature some of the best driving I've seen posted to youtube. Done in "pukka" Land Rover style: slow as necessary, steady and controlled.

I know Kev very well, if you look at his videos my car is the grey D4. Kaz11 is the videographer for the jamieogilmore (misadventure) channel which is run by Jimmy Salsa. We are not the most professional of producers, but we do try our best. It does help that most our the cars are landlines, and that a
Ways makes for good subject matter! ;)

Cheers, and they are some of the best videos around too, especially as they go for longer than 30seconds:D

I manages to find a contact via...ahem...4wdaction... Sent him an email. Just wanted to chat about his tyres is all.

Hey keep up the good work with those videos too, I must have watched just about all of them many times over.....some very good driving, Kev drives that d2 very well and makes it look easy, and I am amazed how well that rr sport goes with absolutely no wheel travel....
Actually even you car goes better than I thought (reference independent suspension).:D

How come you blokes are members here and Kev isn't?....just to ask the question.....

Cheers again, and looking forward to your next video.

That's how I drive Paul, probably why I haven't broken much on my cars over the years;)

Kev is actually a member here, but as far as I know he hasn't posted at all, and only occasionally visits. I'm actually not sure of his user name. I will send him a text and tell him to get on, but in the meantime he is usually quite quick with replies on his youtube channel.
As far as his tyres go, you can't get him to shut up about his maxxis because he loves them that much! Mind you they are a comparitively cheap tyre and have lasted him over 80000 km, with quite a bit of it doing hard work, so you can understand why.
He is a fantastic driver and with only a two inch lift on his D2, it amazes me how easy he does things......must be the tyres! ;)

I have subscribed to Jamie's (Jimmy Salsa) You Tube channel since the beginning, although we don't see Jamie very often any more apart from the trip to the Cape.

Haha ....I've had maxxis tyres on my Toyota for over 10 years, luv em....you bet it's the tyres....:D.....nah, it's a bit of D2 mixed in as well, maybe a hint of driver input:D:D:D.
I dunno about them being so cheap anymore, they were when they come out, now they are near on the same as the "must have" brands.

Cheers

Their videos as a group are fantastic! Have become friends with jimmy via facebook too which has been cool. I took hours of video while away over Xmas, but no external shots. You really learn to appreciate a camera crew when you want to see how easily the car did that tricky hill etc.

Nice to see the d4 owner on here. Like your rig, and only dream of having the cash to complete mine. :)

Hi Guys,

Thanks Bloodhound. Just got the email from BigKev this morning.
Kev the original tyres on the vehicle were 235/70 R16 which made them 28.95" tall (close enough to 29" for me). The new tyres being 265/75 R16 are 31.6" tall. They are called 32" but they don't quite make it. :( So they only just go over the legal increase.;)

Thanks to everyone else for the positive comments regarding the vids. I am hoping to get through a lot of editing over then next couple of months and put the rest of our trip up.

I am not actually a member of the Misadventure crew, just a ring-in.

Kind Regards
Kev
