been taking a few hits lately and battling on a few fronts with a few different things but it just keeps getting more interesting by the day

last week next doors tree invades my place, next door not all that interested in putting right what he needs to put right, so we are having to battle thru that.

last night i get a call from the better half to say her tibetan spaniel has popped an eyeball in an altercation with my english toy terrier. he hit his head on a table leg and the eye pretty much left the socket.

poor little man was good as gold as she raced him down to brisvegas to a 24hr vet.

about $1000 later, his eye is back in place after being operated on etc etc and we are awaiting word on how he is going... whether he has sight in it etc

amex takes another hiding...

if your listening surpreme being, give it a rest will ya!

am over it!

Could've had a better start to 2013 myself, but it's not as bad as that mate.

Keep smiling, there must be another great 4wd trip coming up....:D

Cheers

So true.

Week before xmas my neighbour demolished their house. My place totally covered in concrete dust. Only had x2 windows half open on the other side of the house which let in all the fine dust over everything. Wish he used a water truck:mad: and who has to pay for it? ME!

2k later for cleaning inside and out + Plummer to disconnect my water tanks as they are filled with soot.

Rangie motor slipped a liner.. put a secondhand motor from a disco in on the weekend..$$

Yesterday one of my printers packed it in.. 12k fix.

Will it please stop!

FWIW, we has a large branch from the neighbour's tree fall onto the shed and do some damage. Our insurance co said that unless it was "reasonably forseeable" then the neighbours weren't liable and we had to claim on our insurance.

"Reasonably forseeable" sounds like one of those terms that will be interpreted in a way that suits them by different organisations.

Big gum trees drop branches. That is pretty well known. Does that mean that it is "reasonably forseeable" simply because the tree in question was a gum tree?

NPWS seem to be sufficiently convinced that gum trees will drop branches to have closed Tuross Cascades camping area until they can prune all the trees.

there are laws covering it in qld as my neighbour is just finding out :p

he tried the insurance line on me and i let him know i didnt see it that way

insurance companies are only interested in dodging payouts and cover has little to do with the law it seems.

QCAT is the answer to the problem

Tree disputes questions and answers - Department of Justice and Attorney-General (http://www.justice.qld.gov.au/corporate/justice-initiatives/neighbourhood-disputes-resolution-act-2011/trees)

if a tree over 2.5 metres causes damage the tree owner is liable no if's no butts pardon the pun

if a tree under 2.5 is growing into your yard and your neighbor wont trim it, you can and you can bill them up to $300 and if they don't pay, they are made to pay by QCAT.

bit of an eye opener ;)

caxton street legal give you guideline booklets and even show you how to fill in the forms if needed

funny how some people have two sets of rules

Earlier this month, Princess Ditsy had a couple of trips to the vet for an abcess or two.

then

Last weekend, my tree fell over in my driveway narrowly missing a 101.

**** happens. You deal with it and move on.

I've never seen a neighbourly spat that can't be solved by a BBQ, couple of beers & a chat, followed by a working bee. When you think about it, if trees over the fence is the worse drama in our lives, we are doing ok, Bob

I'm not enjoying 2013 too much yet. My wife just said, "buggar the separation, she now wants a divorce"
So much for me hoping for a good outcome for our daughters and myself.

Well said Bob,
I dread retiring, moving into town and my biggest worry being the neighbours "cedar tree berries" dropping over the fence!

Cheers, Mick.

Hello All,

Trees hey, I was at the clothesline after a couple of days of strong wind and heard this loud craaack from my left. Looked up just in time to see one of the white cedars in the chook yard topple over. Wiped out the corner post of the chook house fence and is currently hanging over the boundary fence. Luckily the tree is away from the next door neighbour's house and mine. The neighbours are not too perturbed about some branches hanging over into their place at the moment.

I know what I am doing on the weekend!

Kind Regards
Lionel

Sorry to hear that Mate. That last word "divorce" cost me a lot of money.I hope for you and your girls sake the laws have changed and now favour 50/50 or even the man as they certainly did not used to.
John.
