The EPA has just issued a warning for those thinking of fishing or catching fish.prawns etc from the Gippsland Lakes.

Apparently there is a Algae bloom that has been found in fish samples. The bloom can lead to liver damage.

If your coming up to the region DON'T let this stop you the fires are fairly well contained and the Algea bloom wont really affect you if you clean the catch fully.

They need your tourism bucks up there.

Thanks for the heads up. Can't find anything on their website. Gotta link??

I'm taking the kids down to Lakes Entrance for the long weekend, and we were going to do some fishing in the Lakes and Rivers. Want to make sure we're safe.
