Hi,
Came up with this idea on my drive home from Melb from picking up my defender. It was hot and although i have aircon i prefer natural airflow so had the front vents open. When it was my stint in the passenger seat for a rest i was pulling stuff apart and noticed a decent airflow coming from the ashtray in the dash and thought, as i don't smoke, this would be good if directed into the car.
So a $5 100x50mm rectangle 90degree PVC downpipe fitting and some black paint and it works a treat to cool down the car and increase the airflow inside. I had to trim the back out to fit into the ashtray surrounding but it still looks like it could be a standard fitting in the car. Will pop-rivit the surround to the pvc fitting later if needed but it holds up fine at full flow at 100+km/h
Cant figure out how to attach images so can't upload them to show the process.
