I've been having issues with version 18 and version 19 beta doesn't like my addons.
I downgraded back to v17 and all is good again.

18 is ok with forums on the lappy and home PC ATM, although Nitro PDF won't open on the lappy and I can't work out why.

update your Flash player, its usually a conflict between versions.

No, say it isn't so :(

Has it become that bad ?

Oh well, life moves on, I was using Chrome for the first time on a friends lappy yesterday and it seemed pretty good.

Mozilla based browsers have disabled some plugins recently - older versions of java and older versions of some pdf readers have been automatically blocked for security reasons. I am unsure if Nitro PDF is specifically affected but you may need to update it to get it to work.

Yep, realise that and pretty sure I have the latest Nitro on the laptop.
That maybe the issue, all I've been doing so far is saving the files and re-opening, it's a workaround as I'm too lazy, not computer literate enough and too much else going on to bother ATM.

On about 4 occasions over a couple of years after Firefox gets an update and I have exactly the problem you describe, you will find a few threads of mine about the issue.
The problem only goes away when I have upgraded Flash and sometimes Java and re-start the machine. So if your Flash is the latest then next is to upgrade Java.
