Anybody got any tales about theirs???
I see they are now getting very affordable, starting to see them in the $25000 to $30000 range, inc HSE models.
How thirsty are they, how good is the 4.4V8,any issues to watch for???

As I have said before, if I had my choice over again next time I'd buy a V8 D3 instead of the diesel even though I tow a van occasionally.

cheers,
Terry.

My brother had one, fantastic vehicle, not that bad on fuel especially with petrol cheaper than diesel and servicing cheaper. If I could afford on in the D4 I would have....

When I finally part with my beloved Td5 D2 ... I'll be seriously considering the V8 D3 because of its ability and price.

My wife and I have a 2005 Discovery 3 HSE V8. The 4.4 litre V8 is a lovely engine, smooth and powerful, with a load of towing capacity. Fuel economy on the open road has been as good as 10.5l/100km, whilst around town (Canberra) it can vary between 14.5 to 17l/100km.

No regrets in choosing a V8 over a diesel. :D:D:D

Cheers,

Andrew

They make a nice noise when that pedal on the right is used, and used hard.

I was on a day trip with the GCLRO, and one of the forumites has a V8 D3. Heading up one of the hills, you could hear it.:D

Not in Sydney lately, especially PULP. Yesterday even E10 costs nearly as much as diesel.

I have a V8 D3. Paid 26K (with 126,000 Kms on the clock) over a year ago. Fitted gas and you can not tell any difference. So all up it cost around 29K. Just found the sports mode the other day (thought it only had command shift and drive doh!!!) and boy how much fun is it. I get around 17/100 running around town and I have a roof rack with the spare wheel on top! Only used to get 15/100 out of my Nissan Diesel!!
They are a great vehicle and servicing is simple (change spark plugs at 150,000K!!) and mainly consists of oil and filter changes.

That one is possibly mine, I had the exhaust modified though to give it a growl

I would buy another V8 (D4) if I ever parted with the D3

Yes it was yours Garry, I just couldn't remember your forum name!

And yes, that growl was very audible even over my V8 D1.
