After sitting for 5 years i decided to see if i could make her run, i threw in a borrowed battery and turned the ignition on, after i finally figured out there's a big button to start it i gave said big button a push and she fired into life on the second turn of the starter!!
She chugged away with a nice smooth idle and sounded sweet
That is old school cool right there, try doing that to a modern car
I love my old Landrover :)

Congratulations, I think that when you get your new toy to run, its abit of a bonus that you have got something for nothing and gives you a sense of satisfaction that you didnt buy a piece of rubbish.;)

I bought a weekender property in Gippsland Vic a few years ago, and after a year or so of ownership I went walking in a remote area of the block and found a S2 swb. Nose down in a gully, front spring mount and spring bent on a rock.
It was almost invisible covered in leaves and branches. With the canvas top rotted the interior was full to the seat boxes with leaves and branches.
There was a Lucas distributor cap in a cupboard in the shack, guess what it fitted:D.
Walked back with a can of petrol and a battery, It started after 15 sec of cranking, drove it back to the house.
Previous property owner had the place for 10 years, didn't know it was there.
What a bonus!!!
