Sun struggling thru at Brighton,Rain stopped for the moment, still windy. Dropped the wife at work at the Courier Mail, Bowen Hills, a few power lines down on the way, branches down everywhwere, but not too bad. Waiting to see if we have to pick up Mum from 11th av. again at high tide.Thinking of the people North of us, facing the floodwaters, stay safe, Bob

Hello again.
Here in the inner west it is still blowing quite strongly although the rain has dropped off a bit. I actually caught 5 seconds of sunshine about 15 minutes ago.
Have to genuinely feel for the folk further downhill nearer the river who may well get an unwelcome bath - second time in a couple of seasons - and obviously those in other areas who already have. Looks like Bundaberg is facing a record flood which no doubt is something they could have done without.
Cheers,

Scott,
Hello from Brisbane - thoughts really are with you and all of the others who will be facing a bucketload of reconstruction jobs around your properties as a result of this one. Something that you could do without for sure.
Here in the suburbs I have a yard to clean up and tiny bit of water damage, which in the scheme of things is nothing at all.
Cheers,

Just got back from getting fuel for the genny:) we have had no power since 3pm yesterday and they tell me probably none before 7pm tonight:(
The Logan river is rising, not surprised as we had 150mm of rain yesterday alone. Though not near as bad as as others, stay safe everyone.

A few of the avenues at Sandgate/ Brighton have around 500 mm of water, not surprising as it is all a reclaimed swamp.thankfully the Council was on the job, and left heaps of sandbags, the old D2 was a sandbag buggy, and did it well . :) Got to Mums place just in time, bagged it up,no water in, all good. The Mud Army is beng formed again, people are beng asked to register on the net[ don't know the address] and will be contacted if needed. Well , must be off to find the wellies & work gear again, Bob

Hopefully we get another good days rainfall out of this.
So far it's just been steady, soaking rain on the western edge of the divide here in NSW, and long overdue.
We may even get the river running again. :D

Nice and high above the river here, thanks :D
We're on top of an ancient riverbank, the river is about 200m away and nearly 20m below us and we're only about 20km from the head of it.
If it gets up to us, someone, somewhere better have an ark built as most of Oz will be under water !

In Bellingen, our grandchildren are on one side of the river with their father and our daughter is on the other side of the river at their house, cut off by the flooded river. All OK though - bit of an adventure for them, I think.

SWMBO just showed me a photo someone on FB posted of one of the 'small' waterfalls going up the escarpment between Thora and Dorigo
We only drove up there last Monday and I have to go back in two or so weeks.
I seriously wonder whether the road will be fixed by then or not.

Hoping for a bit of sunshine tomorrow, backup genny is getting a bit of a run, no sunshine no power in. Got a couple of trees down on the road about 2ks from the house, can't get across the river to go anywhere so will wait until the sun comes out before attempting removal. We have had about 660mm since the 25th till 3pm today.
Everybody stay safe.
Cheers

Just tipped 128mm out for the last two days, so not too bad and has been good, steady, soaking rain. (and it's still drizzling/lightly raining)
There's still cracks in the paddock too

`Yah!!! Just got power back. Been off since Sunday although not too bad as we've been using the gas barbie & the Engel although wifey wanted to put meat & stuff in it. What a hide! I had to go out & buy a genset. Probably went a bit over the top with a 6000W but we're on pump supplied tank water & had no idea what they drew! Luckily our house has a dedicated genny plug in the power board which runs the whole shebang. I truly hope everyone came through OK.
