G day guys , I have an 01 d2

Im after some front recovery points, steering protector and front + rear diff protectors.

Have you guys brought stuff from 4x4 Design and Engineering - Home (http://www.4x4de.com.au) before and what did you think? Eg price and quality?

And where else you could recommend to buy from?

I've got the 4x4de steering guard and front recovery points, they're solid and well made.... I'm happy with them.

I've got 2 of the 4x4DE front underslung recovery points - not cheap, but happy with them and I'm not convinced about the strength of the jate versions on the bull bar - photo is somewhere here on another thread.
Also have front diff protector, front sump protector (runs from radiator back to steering arms - which are also HD). Still cogitating on rear diff and TC/Auto trans protection as mine is set up as a tourer and in theory anyway I should not get that far into trouble.

QUOTE - Where did you get your sump and trans protector from?

They were fitted by a local company in Perth (so not much use to you). Can't give you product names for them at the moment as they are not mentioned on the invoice and the car is away having a rubbed through ATF hose replaced - I suspect the ATF problem started life/happened arising from poor re-fixing during my engine transplant which was done well after having my excellent auto trans upgrade work done for improved towing. I will leave it to the experts to argue over warranty/liability.

From Steve at Lifestyle 4WD in Morley - 4 Barnett Court - 9271 7500. Last time I was there he had plenty of stock and good prices. Cheers

One last o e for you. Can I mount these with a bulbar? And just to the frame?

If I assume the question is angled in my direction, I have an ARB bull bar (airbag compatible - ie mounted/bolted in front of the crush cans) and the 4x4DE recovery points are connected immediately behind/rear of the crush cans ie not connected to the bull bar in any way. Sump guard likewise is connected to the chassis behind the bullbar.
Hope this answers?
