Hi All,
Just starting out on my D4 journey and after lurking on the forum to soak up a bit of knowledge (thanks all) I'm about ready to make the move.
I'm looking at a couple MY11 TDV6 Discos in Melbourne.
Can any one recommend a local LR Mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection?
Also, am I gonna kick myself for not waiting for a vehicle that has the reverse camera option?
Cheers,
Dan

Hi Dan,
I can highly recommend Damien from Peninsula Rangie Frankston.
I recently sold my D4 to a fellow AULRO member from QLD and Damien was able to pick up 2 faults that my Landrover dealership couldn't.
He is extremely passionate about his Landrovers and extremely thorough.
You will also get a fully detailed written report.

Cheers, Craig

Hi Dan. If you are going to do some towing, one person job to hook up.

Now that I have a reverse camera, I definately wouldn't buy a car without, or I would fit one aftermarket. Besides the convenience of trailer hookup and easier parking etc..I have young kids and, although you can't rely on a reverse camera, the extra saftey and peace of mind when reversing is worth every cent/the extra wait IMHO

kero / Rob it sounds like I'll regret not having the camera as the next thing on my wish list is a boat. Plus with 3 kids under 6 I hear you on the safety angle.

I just spoke with a chap at Trivett LR Sydney who reckons there is a good after-market option for that reverse camera.
They replace the rear view mirror with one that has a small LCD display? Approx $500?
Sounds good... If it works

The other advantage having the reversing camera is that the vehicle will have the upgraded stereo with the larger screen in the dash. Much better than using the small rear vision mirror option - also may lose the mirror functions.

Hi Dandevries,
I had a similar sounding reversing camera in my D4. Worked really well.

Good to hear the mirror option works Craig.
Turns out Peninsula Rangie is a good 30 mins from the seller. Any one recommend a LR mech near Chadstone ?

You could try ULR in Malvern, or MLR in Port Melbourne.
If MLR, ask for Jason or Pete (sneigy) from this forum.

They do work - and very well too - wouldn't be without it.
