Hi, just picked up a 2003 facelift Disco with roof mounted DVD player. Sadly it's not working. Does anyone know of an easy option to replace it?

The head lining also needs done. Was quoted 550 which seems reasonable?

Lastly, I got some nice hot water on my left foot from somewhere to the left of the drivers side footwell. Anything obvious/common before I go in for a look?

Thanks for any advice or help folks. Cheers

Firstly, don't drive it - hot water is probably coming from the heater matrix, so you have a leak in your coolant circuit and it will cost a lot to put right if you drive it and overheat it.

The headlining costs seems high when compared to what people have been discussing on here lately.

Not sure about your DVD player problem.

Re your DVD player.

My first (now crashed) D2 had a not working DVD player. We just had the original screen taken off and a cheap no-name thing mounted to the original bracket. It got its power from the original power supply. (the dealer organised the replacement, I think throgh a Strathfield car radio)

Current D2 has a working original DVD player.

My preference (and recommendation) is - don't fix the original, replace it with a different brand. 1) you can get a bigger screen. 2) get a DVD player where the DVD goes into the unit at roof level instead of under the driver's seat (absolute PITA). 3) get a unit where the sound can be played either through headphones, or the car FM radio, or through a built in speaker (instead of just headphones as per the orginal unit). 4) you'll now have free space under the driver's seat for something else.

I have the cheap unit from the crashed car at home, will use it to replace the original when it goes bust.

Hope that makes sense.

If it doesn't look like coolant, it will probably be condensate building up from blocked a/c drains.

Good suggestions re the DVD and something I have considered. I'll go into strathfield and report back findings.

Does anyone know somewhere in the inner west they'd recommend for headcloth?

And the water leak looks like its clear and I think it is indeed blocked ac drains/drain. Good call. Anyone done this?

3 great replies in a matter of hours. Great forum.

Headliners should be around $325 - $350.

Parts for the original DVD player are Eurovox. (Go Technologies).

I just recently serviced the player and replaced the foam on the headphones (ear muffs). Still $6.60 for a set of muffs.
