Hello All,

News from Britain is that a skeleton found without a coffin that was buried under a car park was in fact King Richard the Third!

I wonder if the jaunty tune playing while they dug down was a bit of a give away. :)

I'm Richard the Third, I am, I am,
Richard the Third I am...

When he said they could build the carpark "over my dead body", it wasn't quite what he had in mind.

Miss his feet too because they were cut off after the Welsh smashed his head in with an axe.:o

Hello All,

Found this link and it has more detailed photographs. Yep I see what you mean DiscoMick about being sans feet. This is the first series of photos that show that much detail. I wonder where and what my direct Welsh ancestors were doing at the time....

G'day Sashadidi,

Following on from the Baldrick theme - well somewhat loosely .... here is Baldrick a little bit more cleaned up and looking slightly more respectible. Oh and relates to Richard The Third as well.

There isn't many news stories that take my breath away, but this was one of them

While it might seem a bit 'unworthy' of a King that he was found under what is now a parking lot, I've taken great interest in this story. Richard III has always been less favoured in the eyes of history (thanks Shakespeare:thumbsdown:) but there is no doubt he made some significant changes for the better while he was in power. Granted, it wasn't all roses (pun intended) put there was certainly worse after him.

It's not often the myth and fact meet, but this was one of those times. :BigThumb:
