Gday friends,
Just seeking some suggestions/advice.
Has anyone mounted carling/carlingford/ARB air locker style switches into a puma, more specifically, into the dash?
If you picture the radio/surround/climate controls, I'm looking at mounting a few of these switches to the right hand side of this.. the area which is angled towards the drivers A pillar.. if that makes sense..
Thoughts and alternatives if I may please
thanks guys,
cammo

I mounted my ones in a custom center cubby box, (because I couldn't bring myself to cut holes in the dash :) )

What about these things?
MUD-UK - Defender Cubby Box Switch Panel (http://www.mudstuff.co.uk/shop/163-defender-cubby-box-switch-panel.html)
I'm thinking of getting one and moving the cup holders to the back, the gear stick knocks the cups anyway.

Hey guys. Both great suggestions; I don't think I want to run wiring through the cubby box - I think your custom box looks the goods Tim - just not for me
The MUD product looks neat too; but I think this option will suit me best.
MUD-UK - MUD Puma Pod (http://www.mudstuff.co.uk/shop/133-puma-pod.html)
Thanks again guys!!

Hi Cammo, I placed ARB compressor and locker switches (carling type?) in the angled area of the dash you are talking about. They fit fine and are out of the way and have good access.

Hi Cammo,
My preference was to avoid clutter and (IMHO ugly) Carling switches, so I bought some genuine Land Rover switches and used the empty switch locations in the dash facia. The caveat is that the switches are low amperage so I wired them into relays rather than directly into the compressor etc.
There's some photos in this thread:

I agree. Did the same thing for Spotties, Mulgo sub tank pump and 3 switches for in cab winch control. The positions were blank anyway in the crew cab so might as well make then useful!

Thanks again for all the options and suggestions guys
I actually don't mind carling switches, and I have even more plans for the factory "blanks". (fuel pumps, additional lighting, etc)
I have, as of tonight, a pumapod from mud.
Installation and photos soon :)

I have both the additional spotlight switches and the carling switches in the spot you originally mentioned.
Probably a moot point now you have purchased the MUD pod.

Chook, I wouldn't say it's a moot point; depends on how many things I add that require power..

Isn't there a fuel gauge on the dash binacle? or is that for a second/aux tank?

I have a follow on question.
The switch blank plates that you can remove and put a switch in, would one of these switch be ok as a spot light switch.

Yep I have one for my light bar and one for my HID Spots,
Daniel at mulgo has the switches that fit, I think they are even the ones with the spotlight symbol on them.
