I was born and raised there. Been through to Adelaide so many times via all routes. The best one to take is my missus. Seriously though, if theres no special reason to go via Synedy, then the Newell Hwy option thru Toowoomba, Millmerran, Goondiwindi, to Nyngan then follow the sun thru to Broken Hill will save you over 400km of driving.

I went there to stay three days and finished up there for three weeks.Broken Hill and surrounds is one of the most interesting places that I have been in Australia. There is so much to see and do that I just manager to get it all in by three weeks.I'd go back anytime.

Hello from Brisbane.
If it is open, the floodplain road from Bourke to Wilcannia via Louth and then to Menindie and Broken Hill, or just Wilcannia direct to BH is an interesting use of a 4WD. Moree to Bourke via Brewarrina is bitumen all the way, but there are interesting alternatives for getting to Bourke via St George and Hebel.
Depends on your time and inclination.
Cheers,

Just remember to go through Wilcannia as fast as you can.It is not healthy to stop there.

These stupid STOP signs are spreading everywhere on Traffic Lights in NSW, maybe the RMS (old RTA) knows something about power outages to come:D:wasntme:

There's some memories there. Pedalled my pushy across that intersection more than a couple of times when I was a lad.

Yes we have traveled all those roads;) Last time we went down the Darling River Run the river was dry, when we returned it was half full and flowing very fast, we were lucky to get home:o
This time we are dragging the car trailer with the 101 on so going via Gunny, Bourke, Cobar, very good caravan park in Cobar BTW:) Probably in Broken Hill for a couple of days, we like it there, lots to see :)

Ooops meant this as a new thread under "General Chat" sorry Ho Har's .... moderator calling the moderator - sorry.
G'day All,
Just listening to the PBS News Hour and they are talking about some of the largest snowfalls in recorded history in some parts of the USA. Maybe Frosty the snow individual wants to take over and run riot in certain parts.
Nope I can't find a snow individual smiley how about  to protect the eyes from reflection off the snow?
Meanwhile parts of Victoria and Tasmania are still facing the threat of bush fires - funny old world we are living in.
Kind Regards
Lionel
