Spotted a grey D3 in Orange this afternoon, pulling into the Orange Civic Theatre.
Black ARB Steel bar, AULRO sticker top right hand corner of the rear window :)

The title threw me a little. I expected it to be about Inc's new advertising strategy using a G4 D3 and some stickers

I think we need a Promo car for Inc. :D
Something that can be parked outside Toytrol dealers

That was me...well mine. Its hard to get my hands on it lately. No1 son is on the "L's" and SWMBO won't let him near the Audi. That was probably the after-school pick up from the library. Hope they were behaving themselves ;-)

Didn't see any L plates, and I was focussed on the appalling driving of the people who entered the roundabout before.
As it pulled away I pointed out to my girlfriend that it had an AULRO sticker and I would have to inquire about it later.
She gave me an odd look.
Toyota drivers   :wasntme:

Yes its a funny old place. There doesn't seem to be any medium between stop for everything or stop for nothing at the roundabouts. I reckon the L plates would have been on very soon after you saw her. Stornoway Grey...it must be a cheery place. I don't know if it is supposed to be the colour of the rocks, sky or sea. (possibly all three):D:D:D

I hate roundabouts in orange, it's like a feeding frenzy. :censored:
D3 Looks pretty schmick mate, I think I've passed you before and given you a wave.
Still, I got an arm out the window waving madly peace sign from a D1 driver today

Thanks. It is great...it does need a new windscreen at the moment.
I reckon I get about 80% of waves out there but with a dealer in town now there are a heap more around town now (esp D4's and RRS)so I do miss a few. Sorry if I missed you. I always liked the look of the D2 and almost upgraded from the D1 about ten years ago for the extra space and power. I hung on until the D3 came out and I could afford one.

Mine too, the suction cap for my ipod holder covers the chip though :wasntme:
I wave at them all, a few local D2s and D1s give the most waves back, the odd D3/D4.
Few RRCs, never any of the RRS or Evoques wave back :(

I'll have to keep an eye out too. People are always getting up me for not waving. :(

I have this mental picture now of the hilux exploding "Simpsons" style! :D
I parked off to the side of the carpark so nobody scratches it. :lol2:

Yeah, I'll never forget the day, about a year ago, when we were coming home from Orange. I passed you in Windsor presumably heading home. I waved, but got absolutely nothing back, not even a glance in my direction. I was devastated and haven't been back since.
:p
Cheers,
Jon

Sorry :(
I'm actually not sure if I should be apologising for myself or for Orange. :D

Hello Disco Muppet,
Orange aye! Is there a campus of Charles Stuart Uni there? What is the main employment/industry in Orange and Bathurst. I have not been through either place for a long time.
Kind Regards

Yep, there's a CSU campus in orange and bathurst.
Cadia gold mine would probably take the top prize for employment in orange.
Pays a pretty penny too, seriously considering doing some time there to pay of my HECS debt after uni :)
Can you imagine what I'd spend on my D2 if I had a high paying job?!
Hey Shining, what colour D1 does your daughter drive, I've seen a few P plate D1s in Orange.
Only 1 D2 though..... :D

G'day Disc-Muppet,
So with reference to a HECS debt what discipline area you studying?
How healthy is CSU? Any talks of cutting back on research or the like? Or in other words is the uni contracting, remaining static, or growing?
Kind Regards
Lionel

I'm in my second year of a Social Science Criminal Justice course, with a minor in Policing :)
It's not what you'd call expensive, at something like $6k per year so it's not too bad, and currently I only have 6 hours a week :wasntme:
AFAIK CSU is quite healthy, with lots of expansion :)

The D1 is the very dark blue, ARB Bar. The bonnet paint has deteriorated. It now also has a paint scrape from a car park pole on the passenger side (Daughter has received some remedial driver training!). I still use it as my commuter, but she is home from uni ATM and is the driver around town. She wants to take it with her back to Bathurst but she can't really afford to run it(conversation still to have). Its been a great bus >360,000 km and never let me down in a big way.

I gave a wave to a RRS in town yesterday. Not only did he see me but he looked at me as if I was crazy. Also it is obvious that many(all?) D4 drivers in town are car drivers 'cause they don't wave either. If we keep it up they may catch on.

I've never gotten a wave from a Rangie driver, except a nice green RRC in town.
Only 1 D4 driver has ever waved back

There is a D3/4 driver in town who does initiate a wave. I'm not sure if he's a kind Landy folk or someone from work though.

No, I'm at Kinross but I do head around Leeward a bit, we have suppliers around there. I was at the RTA recently also, registering my little green car. Are you normally near Pirtek. The good fellows there did my ATF and PAS lines for the V8 ute.

There's a stockish D2a, similar colour to yours/mine that parks there.
Think it has a sahara bar and 2 driving lights on it.

There are a few blue ones in Orange. Ours are the only lifted ones, a couple with bars and lights, but not many.
My friends keep mistaking yours for mine, despite how many times I tell them I don't have roof racks.
I wish though! :D

The guy at Pirtek is probably Canadian as he a flag sticker on the back. I am further around Leewood Dr at a Newcrest.
