G'Day all.
I just want everyone here to know how I feel about being part of this wonderful family we call Land Rover ownership. I love jumping on line and reading about everyone's trials and tribulations with this most iconic brand. We all use our Landy's for different purposes, 4X4ing, towing, commuting, touring, or just dropping the kids off to school. But it does not matter here, we are family and we love our Landy's wether it's a Series one or the latest RRS. So here's to us!!!! Let's keep being different and have fun doing it. So if your with me let's hear about it!!!
Regards
Robbo:):D:cool:

I agree Robbo.
I was just thinking the other day that my D2a turns 10 years old next month. We have owned it since new (like you also) and apart from some fuel line rubbing issues, it has been completely reliable, in no small part thanks to the knowledge from the AULRO community.
So much a passion rather than a mode of transport... :)
Cheers,

Yep, wouldn't and couldn't own the three I have without this forum. One for day to day, one for the weekend and one project - what could be better... Hmmm, maybe another one....:D
Not quite yet, but I'm sure there is a 101 out there somewhere with my name on it, I'll find it one day.;)

I'd agree, just about to celebrate 1 year of LR ownership, and it's been one hell of a year :)
Only regret is that I'd found out about this place before I bought mine, just for that extra bit of insurance :)
Three cheers for AULRO!

Same for me, with a county....
And a defender...
And a Series 1....
And...
And...
Oh dear... :lol2:

You better go check carefully. If it has my name on it, then it must be mine. :D. I'll creep up your driveway one night with a permanent marker...;)

Here, here, Robbo.
I frequent other fora for information sharing on my other car, sailing, fishing, camping, fixing my various consumer electronics issues etc and neither of them have the same inherent community atmosphere at all.
This is a remarkable site serving and supported by remarkable people and my life has been made enormously richer because of it. To the many question proposers and the myriad sharers of wisdom and experience, I say "Thank you".
I believe the moderators deserve a doffing of the headwear for their efforts, too as the site is very well-managed, in my opinion. Onya chaps.
It might not be the flashest looking forum around but by God it does the job it's charged with doing and it does it again and again and again.
Rather like a Land Rover, wouldn't you say?

Maybe I'll stop being lazy and write something on top of posting a video. ;) I thought the "classless" theme in the video was appropriate to how people of all backgrounds happily mix on the forums.
I can certainly say that owning my Disco has been far more enjoyable with the forums to help me out. I would have only managed half the servicing and maintenance efforts to date if it wasn't for the forums and it's helpful members. :)
Ditto to the moderators and admin. Very well run with plenty of room for general chat (which I think helps make a community) as well as lots of technical LR stuff.

I have 4 different car brands sitting outside. A Renault, a VW, a Mercedes and 2 Land Rovers. And guess how many forums I belong to that relate to those brands? 2, with one of them being AULRO, and the other I joined because I needed to download a document to fix an issue with the Merc.
To me that says a lot about the forum, the brand, and the members. I look here a couple of times each day, at least. The other forum, I look when something breaks.
Keep up the good work all!
