I want to hook up my foxtel box to the internet as they do different stuff now.

So i followed the instructions but it did not work. I rang up foxtel and they said I have to connect the cat5 cable directly into the modum.

Thats where it gets difficult.

I have one of those purely wireless jobbies that has no connection point. I tried to plug it into the laptop. The laptop said it found a new network but this did not connect to the internet and when i went into the foxtel settings there was no network.

So is it possable to connect my foxtel to the internet with the system i hav at the moment?

Ok so I figured it out on my own:D:D:D:D:D:D

So all i did is plug the foxtel into my laptop using a cat5 cable then i bridged the wireless conection with the cable connection which made the network bridge.:cool::cool:

I still had problems as foxtel was showing it was connected but it was not using it.

I renewed the DHCP settings as it had expired for some reason and bingo it's connected.

pritty easy to do it just took me some time to figure out.

So anyone outhere needing to do this it's easy.

Get a wireless adapter for the foxtel box or a new router and EOP (ethernet over power) plugs .
