I've seem similar things but for me it's always been what do you then do with the plate thing. Just more crap in the car.
So I just work on the dizzy rotor removal for petrol. And a kill switch on the diesel. Well after the immobiliser has been ditched.

Hello,

Good idea but where do you put it when not in use?

I like the x-eng stuff, I am going to get their take on a pedal lock.

I just use a good old "Krook-Lock" when it is not in use it lies on the shelf under the windscreen.

I have seen somewhere a device that is fitted to the clutch or brake lines (Depending on the laws). Basically what it does is that when you push the pedal it does not let the pressure back off. Thus the vehicle is rendered un drivable. I forget exatly just how it is switched on or off.

Some body here will surly have heard of them.

Many years ago (at least 25) I enquired about these for Land Rovers / Range Rovers:

Grant Products - Vehicle Security (http://64.60.165.189/c-107-vehicle-security.aspx)

They were not particularly interested but the idea is great, with Land Rover now sold in the US they are now available for some year models of Discovery, Freelander and Range Rover.

Of course you would not want to lug it around in the bag but it could be stored securely in a lockable bracket in the vehicle.

I just use a good old "Krook-Lock" when it is not in use it lies on the shelf under the windscreen.

There was a guy selling a floor type pedal lock at the Wandin field days many years ago and he had a Krook Lock as a demo of how easy they are to get around. He put a flat screwdriver behind the plate ( which holds the lock mechanism) and drove it in with a hammer & prised off the backing plate & the lock fell out :o.
When I got home that night I welded my plate to the square section arms. Much better, but apparently they just cut thru the steering wheel, we lost a Ford Escort that had a steering lock on it.
