I recently ordered some td5 filter kits from Karcraft, listed as "SERVICE KIT - L/R TD5 (INC GERMAN FILTERS) BK0014A". I got a quote before ordering, and the quote was titled Mahle.pdf - so I assumed that all the filters would be Mahle branded. I'd read they were a good compromise to genuine, particularly in relation to the centrifugal oil filter - so I ordered up 3 kits.
I received Mahle spin on oil and fuel filters, the air filter was Coopers, and the centrifugal oil was Bearmach branded.
The centrifugal oil filter box, in addition to the Bearmach sticker, has a sticker with ERR6299<C> which according to the Karcraft list is a "Copy", whereas the Mahle is ERR6299<B> and $6.07 more epensive. I take it Bearmach and Mahle centrifugal oil filters are not the same.
Can anyone comment on the difference in quality between Bearmach and Mahle? Should I bother to request the Mahles, or just use the Bearmach?
ps. Karcraft have apologised for sending the wrong filters and happy to swap them or credit, whatever I decide. They suggest the Bearmach filters are "excellent quality"
