2012 SD4 - oh man, was I impressed. Almost as fast as the Rangie.

We're looking for a more 'urban' car for my wife and after looking at the FL2 SD4 and the Audi Q5, the FL2 was a clear winner. In fact, we didn't even take the Q5 out. Was dull, boring etc..

We just have to decide if this is the way we want to go as buying from a dealer we're bound to loose a bit just driving out - even used....no second hand cars on the market at the moment - too new.

My Mum has an Audi Q5 (didn't even look at a Freelander 2, too many bad experiences with the Range Rovers Dad owned over the years). The Q5 is an unpleasant drive. No steering feel at all and an odd transmission. The Freelander is a much better car.

 We test drove everything from a Suzuki Grand Vitara to the Audi Q5 and the BMW X3 - nothing was in the same class as the SD4 so we bought one at th4 beginning of December and have not been disappointed in its performance on or off road. The only failing has been the useless Garmin GPS - the first one didn't work from the time we went to pick up the car and after seeming endless visits to the dealer we got it replaced only to find it is hopeless once you get out of the city. It got lost at least once a day during our first off-road expedition and tried to send us the wrong way twice while we were still on the bitumen. Have now fitted a Hema Navigator = satisfaction and peace of mind. :)

Can you tell me if the Hema unit fitted easily or did you have to modify something? I've also had lots of problems with the Garmin. Thanks Peter
