Hi

I'm about to update the D2's stereo head unit and am looking for places that sell the finishing facia plate/insert thingy.

I've searched and searched ... can you please tell me where to get it?

Thanks

Craig

You don't nead a facia plate if you are fitting a single din radio. The LR radio fits into a single din slot, just has a bigger face. It already has a trim under the radio.

Sorry Steve, I stole your picture for the market section.

Thanks ... I not sure why but I thought that there would be a gap if installing a single din head unit.

Well I thought there would have been a gap! You learn something new every day:D

So, why are those single din insets available if that step is there anyway?

Cheers

For the nisota crowd that want to fill the gap in a two din slot.

Yeah, except they are sold specifically for a D2 for changing the stereo to a single din...?

Check eBay.

I don't have a link, but the local radio professional who replaced my LR original with my new one in all single DIN unit last year already knew that a small fascia bit was required (under the new unit) and got it as part of the Pioneer changeover. So, someone here will know where.

Link?

1. Select google
2. Type "land rover single din"
3. Get results
4. Change to images
5. Select appropriate picture, much easier than trying to read descriptions
6. Go to the image home page and walah! All the info you want:D:D:D

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Yes, haven't done it yet so I can't add to the actual task, but have been thinking about it....I have a 99, so it only has the good old tape player....either getting an update cd player, or single din cd etc.

I changed mine to a single din a few months back. Just poke a couple of small screw drives or Alan Key into the little holes eigther side of the radio and pull the radio to remove. Plugged in my radio adapter wiring plug I made up. Slip the new radio in. Quick and easy job.

That filler plate covers the screws to remove the console and is on all D1 and D2 cars. You don't need to buy one unless it has been broken by someone poking around.
