Finally installed ADR approved bull bar in melb on the Rangie.. It's off disco 2 they didn't have to muck around with the mounts therefore cans are untouched.. And he certifies it 😁5670056701

Well I had a look underneath, they drilled an extra hole in each bracket no cutting though.. All the spacing is the same as disco, they just had prob with height but I didn't see what they did there..
So now he's making them for p38's

That's with the bull bar itself included? If so, I might have to give this guy a visit.

I would like to think so...but I have only ever seen (on this forum too) one L322 with a bullbar and it was a modified bar, and no-one seems to offer a certified one for the L322 :-(
And there is quite a few of us would like one!

If your in Vic, give this guy a call, because that was the case with the p38, they never made one for it but he said bring it over n we pull your bar off and have a look.. He had a look underneath and said we can do it.. Mine was his first n he took photos n said he's going to make then from now on.. The crush cans were not touch therefore he certified it for me..

Very excited by this! Looks good but could you put some more pics of the bar, I can only see small thumbnails at the begining of the thread! Recon he'd be on a group discount? All those who want and are ready to buy say I!

I.
We were doing to drop down the the Rat today to have a look, but just ran out of time.
I'm wondering what the approach angle is with the bar on, and how much it weights. I know there seems to be two types of ARB winchbars for the D1's, one is 38kg, and the other is about 60.

I havnt yet tested approach angle but it looks a whole lot better than standard approach.. Hopefully this weekend if any other Vic p38's are interested 😁
The ballarat mob would definitely be interested in group discount, because he giving my mate a discount now for his disco II on the same bar.. He said if any of ur mates come we will look after them too..

I picked it up myself, felt pretty heavy, definitely between 40-60kg.. Or maybe I just had my spinach that day.. Hahaha

They're not a bad bar and good value. I live up the road from S and J in Snake Valley, the shops in Smythesdale to be exact. I was going to buy one for my Landy but I ended up getting a ARB one for next to nothing in Ballarat.
The fact he fitted it to your P38 might interest a mate in QLD who's about to buy a P38 himself.

Your mate in QLD and I could become good friends! I'm on the lookout but not in the market for a bullbar for a few months! If we buy at the same time we might be able to work something out freight-wise!

I don't know how fussy you guys are but the edge of the bar is about 20mm off the end of the wheel arch.. Doesn't bother me one but though, looks really tough on.. I'll take a heap more photos tomorrow n post them up..

Bar looks good Sam. I just recently fitted D2 bar to my P38 but did not retain crush cans as it would have required much modification of bullbar brackets or make up new brackets so I mated up my bumper bar mounts to bbar brackets. Fit is perfect, lines up spot on with wheel arches & front grill. I think I'll be up for run this weekend to wombat if anyone's interested, keen to asses new radiator.

I've just got off the phone to Shane at S&J $1,050 for the bar with mounting brackets plus postage ($220 to Perth). Now I neet to convince SHMBO that we really need one ;) It sounds fairly straight forward to fit, then finally get a winch on the car, it looks easier than trying to work with the original bar with a detachable winch.

Have you already ordered Gary?
If I'm not too late could jump in on the freight order to save some coin. Who will you get to fit it? Or will you do it your self?
With regard to the original post how does the new bar affect the approach angle and what is the clearance like from the front tyres? I am running 255/70r16 so slightly bigger than stock.

I've just recently benen buying myself another older boat, so a lot of time and effort (read as cash) has been put into getting it ready, after all boat is an acronym for Break Out Another Thousand :o. Hence the timing at home is not quite right to suggest more money be spent on the car :(. I think for me it may have to be a 2014 project as later this year we have a 6 week holiday in Europe, primarily for my son's wedding in Germany.
