We I like all things to do with railways but my preference is trams.

BUT thanks to VW there is a tram thats a train, sort of.

Anyway, here it is and we can thank a car company for an interesting “tram”, with a great name, the CarGo.

Yeah, sort of a hybrid isn't it!!!:D:D The Europeans are so far ahead of us with public transport it isn't funny!!;)

I would call it a freight tram.

It's a CargoTram, but I think its only working for VW not made by them. It is owned by Dresden Public Transport and delivers parts to the VW assembly factory/

Hi Lotz, a mate was over there a few years ago and he was waiting at a tram stop.

The indicator board tells you where the next tram goes and will indicate if it is the CarGo tram.

Being a VW head, he was wrapped to see it.

Being a VW head, he was wrapped to see it.Probably good to know not to get onto the CargoTram, otherwise you may find yourself being bolted to a new VW by some robot in the transperant factory! :wasntme:

Reminds me of Colin Rees Transport's Windhoff Cargo Sprinter, albeit CRT's for higher speed line haul.

I think they'd make great grain trains on light lines, using hopper containers. One of my clients had me draw up modifications to make such a container from a standard ISO container a year or two back for a different purpose.
