Since we dont have an official version of that in this forum...

Nothing against the guy personally, hopefully hes fixed everything that really needs to be fixed and someone somewhere thinks the pretty up work on the vehicle is worth what he asks BUT.... This Vehicle (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/land-rover-defender-1976-runs-and-starts-v8-/190797112786?pt=AU_Cars&hash=item2c6c64e5d2) Used to be mine.

Looks pretty now.

If you have ANY questions about the vehicles mechanicals I strongly suggest if hes evasive in anyway that you ask me.

Could be on purpose too !!

I just sold my wifes series 1 Disco via Ebay & phone description. The buyer flew down from Newcastle, then drove it home !!
But then it was/is a great vehicle

I would say that its quite deliberate.
it could quite deliberately be all the angles I didnt take when I was selling it.

No offense to Dave (hoping you didn't put all the triton stuff on it)
But WTF is going on with that!!

what it really is is a

109SIII with a county radiator, grill and bonnet, 3.5 carbed v8 pushing a rangie lt95 with rangie axles and coil springs. An ex military tub and a SWB roof and top panels. Its got the 109 station wagon fuel tank under the back end Disc front drum rear sunrasia 15x8 rims inside some very old stiff slippery rubber. The rear wheel carrier was already fitted.

when it left here It had only the OEM series lighting and a cheapy ally bar on the nose that might have been off of something about the size of a commodore, I had removed and disposed of the sidesteps that were on it (they werent full runner length ones just small ledge steps.)

if I was forced to use only one word to describe the vehicle it would be "tired"

I'd hate to think how "tired" it is.... I've seen your definition of "still ok" ;)

Seem to remember that getting around a few years ago, don't think it looked THAT weird though! Between the bullbar and the second lightbar it looks like some of that strange modern art that I can never understand.:o

.......I didnt want to say how HIDEOUS the bar work was incase you put it on :o........

I must admit that I have seen stuff drop out of the dog's arse that look better than that.

I can imagine the thought process - I need a front bar. THAT one looks good on that car, therefore it will look good on mine from an unrelated manufacturer built 40 years ago.

I do think it's a nice touch that he can illuminate the night sky with his lights though :D

You might have fun and games registering it in NSW or any other state for that matter. Compliance plate says 1976 four cylinder petrol engine. got engineer's mod. plates for everything, has it?

yep, mod plates in QLD for change of seating number, engine mod, brakes mod, gearbox mod, suspension mod.

bloody mod plates cost me more than the cost of the vehicle.

I sold it for between the cost of the vehicle and the cost of the mod plates.

The issue hes talking about is most likely the shot brakes, the tired engine, (still goes well considering its only hauling about 2/3 of what it would normally) could be the oil leaks, the gearbox trans pipe mod leak, the non working parkbrake, ummmm any number of other normal landy faults.

It didnt, the only reason I left the bar that was on it on it rather than putting on a series bar was lazieness with a side serving of "its just the right shape for me to sit/stand on while working on the front of the donk"

I do Function before form, I've seen toyotas and assumed that since none of it was in anyway functional that I assumed it was a form thing and was ment to be pretty.. (not buying that? fair enough, it was sarcasm but we dont have a sarcasm font)
