OK guys,

I know its traditional for a landy to leak oil, but I have seapage out of what I assume is the auto Transmission.

Attached are photos of the leak area.

My question is, is it something that I need to rush to a mechanic about, or something to keep an eye on?

The first Photo shows that oil is seaping from the left bolt, and the second shows oil seaping from a plug further back from the first photo.

Cheers guys

Matt

That's a lot cleaner and drier than mine... I'd just check the fluids and replace the sump washer when you do the next oil change.

That is the bell housing, so unlikely to be an Auto problem.

Pull the engine cover off and have a look around the drivers side towards the back of the motor. Check the cam cover gasket for leaks especially at the back on the head, then have a look at the fuel pressure regulator. The leak is like to becoming from one of those two area.

You'll often get a better idea if you get under the car and look up with a torch to shed some light on the areas on interest.

cheers

The past few months my V8 developed the same. A very small amount of oil is running down the bell housing and gathers on the tip of the sump plug. So far it's never amassed enough oil to actually drip.

I degreased the area so it was spotless and it took 2 weeks to come back. Im not fussed about it.
