Just regassed my Disco 1 with hychill. Works very well and did it all myself. The origional gas lasted 13 years. The local mechanic regassed it with R134a and it lasted 6 months. I have some sealant but wont put it in yet The filter was easy to change and it held vacuum ok. Any experience with the sealants would be appreciated.:wasntme::nazilock:

You had access to a vacuum pump ?
Hychill is used a lot in Headers and tractors, just saves stuffing around for the blokes doing it and has nice discharge pressures.
I added some ACR leak sealer to a commercial three door display cabinet today, (after changing the liquid and suction line dryers) it works very well, but I've never used the auto a/c stuff.
The system has to be absolutely dry to work properly, otherwise you'll create a huge problem for yourself.
Electrolux (Westinghouse/Kelvinator) use it for warranty servicing their domestic systems.
The factory at Orange has been trialling it for quite a few years now and system efficiency only drops a maximum of 1%.
I'll be trying it soon as I have a small leak on a tractor system that we've never been able to pin down, even after changing all the hoses, etc.

Vacuum pump, gauges and oil from Ebay. Reciever dryer from Graeme Cooper, 300g can of Hychill from Bursons in Darwin. Sealant can from Cairns. As I live very remote NT one learns to be self sufficient. Local mechanic shop is last resort.
