I went in to the Townsville dealer the other day to show them my melted mud flap so they could order one and fit it on the next service. They didn't seem to think it was a warranty issue that the mud flaps on a 90 melt because of the silly positioning of the exhaust. They took some photos and said they would get back to me. I am not going to hold my breath. Any thoughts? They cost $131. I refuse to pay that so it can melt again. If they replace it on warranty they will be doing it a few times.

Someone on here has had their one replaced under warranty. A melting mud flap can't be "normal wear and tear" or "consumable" like tyres or oil, so I'd imagine that under the letter of the warranty it would have to be covered.
I haven't even tried for my melted mudflap. Way I figure there's no point replacing it until I figure how to avoid it happening again. I'll claim one at the last service before the warranty runs out.
Let us know how you get on.

But that's like taking a Defender back because the ambient noise in the cab is too high, or the roof leaks... It's just how they are! Why fix it without preventing it happening again? Seems stupid and petty IMHO

It's covered under warranty by Land Rover.

There's no 'official' fix that I've seen so it'll happen again unfortunately - unless you fancy trimming the new one to allow for more clearance when it folds up at speed..

I've had 2 replaced under warranty!
There was a post recently regarding the legal requirements for mud flaps where I posted the price for replacing all 4 from Devon 4x4 in, well Devon UK!
All 4 mud flaps (or 3 left rears) and airfreight for about $10 more than buying one over here. That'll be my option after April when my warranty runs out, but I'll have it replaced once more at the last warranty service!
Cheers,
Lou

my 90 was being repaired in twnvle and i tried telling them to add the mudflap to the long list of things to do and there service manager told me it wasn't a warranty item and i was on my own. .
called Brisbane dealer, said to bring it in when i get it back from twn and they will change it under warranty. .
not at all impressed with the twn dealer tbh. . . but seems it is common and is a warranty issue, just bully them into replacing it.
