A Bundaberg company makes poly tanks, could be of interest to someone. I've sent them an E- mail to see if they are on deck after the floods, no reply as yet, Bob

Poly tanks are available from a number of companies on ebay too. I bought one a number of years ago for the rear floor of the Defender to carry extra diesel on long remote trips. It works a treat. Available in red (petrol) yellow (diesel) and blue (water)

I'm sussing out an upright water tank, to fit behind the folded rear seats [ with pump]. Also, I made up a HD 7x4 trailer with 500mm sides from a kit, currently getting the axle extended, to fit wider tyres [ 245/ 265, not sure yet] and fitted with LR hubs. The idea is to fit a fuel tank in the trailer , over the axle, of about 200 litres. [ with pump.] The trailer will be part of a base camp set up, just have to keep it below 750 kg. Bob

That's a big tank. Most of the poly ones AFAIK are not baffled. Mine was sold as 120l, but this was to do with external dimensions (800 x 400 x 400). In reality it is 105l, to which I fitted my own fabricated fitting, which uses compressed air to transfer the fuel to the main tank via an external hose when stopped.
Just curiosity, but why would you want to cart around 200l of fuel in a trailer? I suppose in a remote base camp, this could be desirable.

The western side of the Gulf, on fishing trips, tinnie on the roof, gives you more flexibility, one group stays & fishes at the camp, the other moves about. The 200 litres would be for 2 or more vehicles, Bob

Bob, I bought one of their diesel tanks (60 litre to go in the load well of the 110), very well made and priced! PolyRV is their 4x4 tank range, water and diesel tanks. Have supplied and fitted a few here and they are a good thing:)

They are just around the corner from me, I will stick my head around there on Monday and have a squiz. They are not in a flood effected area so should be OK.

That would be great, Pop, I'm hoping I can buy direct from the factory, not sure about that, Bob

You may have some luck doing that by turning up at the door Bob, but I had to order through a distributor. Still, very well priced, even freight down to here it was $300 including a filler kit too.
I'd call that very reasonable for 60 litres of extra diesel not in cans, and gravity fed via solenoid valve to factory main tank:)

Bob,
Stuck my head in today and it is business as usual. They did say that they do NOT sell to the public. The retailers are the usual suspects, ARB, TJM, stockfeed/agricultural type places, etc.
All the info on their products is on line, with the exception of pricing. I did grab one of their brochures which has RRP info in it and if you PM me a postal address, I will send it to you.

Thanks, Pop, appreciate that, PM sent. I was looking forward to driving up & spending the night at Agnes, at Bustard CK, , after the place dries out a bit, with the hope of buying direct. Never mind, can still do it, down the track. Bob
