Sorry if this has been covered a million times before, I searched but couldn't find....
Is it possible to re-set the service reminder? Used to be able to do this on other cars by holding down the trip re-set button for a while. Is it that easy on the RRS/D3? Or do I have to do something more complicated?
Thanks in advance.
Rohan.

The simple answer is no - you need a resetting tool like a test book or a resetting tool that is available from Black Box Solutions in Cyprus.

Thanks for all the info :)
Is there a more basic tool that doesn't need a laptop? In laymans (dumb-ass) terms, plug into car, find out what's broken, clear faults. I think I read about something on here before, but can't remember where, or what it's name was! Have had a couple of afternoon refreshments :)

See the link - look at the products - Faultmate MSV-2 does everything, Faultmate FCR just reads codes and clears them, the service resetter is listed under Blackbox BasicBits.

Thanks for your help Garry. Just ordered Faultmate FCR (the minister for finance & war has had a couple of "refreshments" too) :o

Just the thing I was after, looks pretty much idiot (me) proof!

I have one of those - will only read and clear codes - nothing else. If you get the full system you can play around inside your car's computer systems and make changes .

Oh it will not clear your service indicator so if that is important you will need to get the resetter - about $80.

Given my technical abilities, that's not a bad thing! As for the resetter, yep, realise I'll need that too. Will wait 'till SWMBO isn't looking! :wasntme:
