I have a mate looking at two 130's.

According to the adds, 2008, 66000km's, is pretty standard but looks tidy with an alloy tray and ladder racks. With land rover service history

The other has 128000km's, all the fruit on it inside and out. no mention of service history in the add, could have one though.

Both for around the same money, is there anything he should be looking at or for?

I havent had a lot to do with Defenders, so can only point out the obvious. And told him to take either of them to Les Richmond Automotive for an inspection before making his mind up.

He will be used part time on his farm as well as a daily driver, but not in a city.

Cheers

Depends what he wants in a 130.
If it is just for farm work and daily driving the white low mileage one would be the way to go.
However if he wanted something to play in as well or go touring then the grey one with the bells and whistles would be a great start for a touring vehicle.
All those goodies cost $$$$$.

Both look good vehicles, make sure they are checked by a LR mechanic first.:D

Not sure that I would call that 'all the fruit'; to make a serious recreational 4wd, either one will need long range tank, winch, maybe lockers & axle upgrades, and so on and so on. The person who traded the grey vehicle appears to have kept their winch, big $$ to replace that with one up to the job on a 130. I would personally not think that a bullbar, canvas canopy, driving lights and overhead console would offset 2 years worth of average kilometers plus $2k. Going by asking price alone, I would be looking at the cost of adding the same accessories to the lower K vehicle and making the comparison then.

I do like that overhead console though. Another thing to add to the 'I want' list.

white,
half the K's, service history, 1 year older means nothing in Land Rover land.
check if the clutch rattles, if so will need replacing. Otherwise if it drive well, all probably is. Be quick

They seem cheap. Why would anyone buy a old one.
