hey all, was wondering if the nas spec led lights (apart from needing the mounting bases) were plug and play? thinking of changing turning signals, reverse, brake and rear fog into led. Thanks!!

Something like this?

Farrows - fcx SVX LED rear lights (http://www.farrowsclassics.co.uk/fcx-SVX-LED-rear-lights.html)

No there not!
You need the new base, loom & light assembly.
Just finished fitting up a clients vehicle with a complete SVX front & rear lights system.

They are not a plug & play scenario where you just buy a new light & plug it in & it works.

The link is a NAS spec vehicle & they are wired differently.

Cheers

Gotcha. Thank you! will do more research. some sites say they plug and play (wherein you buy the entire plug to where it plugs into the harness)

Sneigy,
Who was the manufacturer of the LED lights - was it FCX, as these guys state that theirs is a plug n play system. I'm considering a set too, so interested in hearing what's required to connect them up.

At the moment i am at home a little ill,
Be back at work tomorrow & will have a look.
They were just the Factory ones & to be honest didnt really look at the manufacturer, just wanted to see what they looked like on the vehicle:p

Hi, I'm sorry if I'm breaking any rules posting 'commercially' but I'm Matt and I own the company in the link above (FCX) and I just wanted to point out that actually the LED lights are entirely plug and play (exactly as the description on the website) and the vehicle used was a bog standard Puma 110 and NOT a NAS spec. Hope that helps :D

Kind regards from the UK

Hi Mick :D

My site statistics showed a load of views from Australia :eek2: so I thought I'd see why all the interest :D:)

I've never been to Australia (although it's pretty high on my wishlist as I have 'rellys' (do you guys actually say rellys?) out here/there)

I thought it was all Land Cruisers in Oz ?

Sorry to de-rail your thread LoveB.

I am assuming you are Go Beyond?

I do like your leather work! I'm looking forward to seeing your new rigs colour scheme installed.

Yes mate, 'rellys' we call them here as well, other things sometimes as well ;).

No Landcruiser for me mate, though there are a lot here, definitely more common than Landies.

No, they are not FCX lights.
They are the Factory Part numbered units as previously mentioned.

Here is a photo of what comes with the light.

I have been looking at LEDs too, but standard looking ones. This lot have a bit of information about what model has what connections and seem to have kits for each model.

Sorry for a bit more of a de-rail .... Yes, I'm Go Beyond on D2 (for my sins) - thank you for your kind comments on the Puma leather and I'm looking forward to finishing the 130 more than anyone ! - I'll post pics up here if that's OK ?

If enough of you want bits I'd be happy to fly over, no problem :D

I don't want to break any rules regarding posting stuff I sell (If this was D2 in the UK the Gestapo would already be knocking on the door :o)

I'll try and remember to take a load of pictures on the weekend of the electrical install in the 130 and show you how I ran the cables (you know what it's like though once you get your head down working, taking pictures is the last thing on your mind !)

You've seen this before Cracka but here's a pic of some of our Puma leather work ...

I'm not really sure how it works but I think if you start doing deals within the normal parts (not the selling thread) they may get angry, I'm sure someone will let you know.

Yeah I know what you mean, I am doing a bit of a rebuild on a small american flats/bay boat and have to remind myself to take piccies for a thread I have going. That would be great if you could do that, you can put them in that other thread if you like.

This is one verrrry nice truck, very tasteful. There's some goodies in there!

Are you going to sign the 130 same as the old 110?

Matt from the UK
1st March 2013, 07:42 PM
Thanks mate, it's good to know other people are enjoying what I'm doing to the truck :clap2:

The sign writing will be similar but now I've got the '.co.uk' i'm just pushing the 'FCX' bit and not worrying about having the full website address as it's easier to find now - Of course it's great having a sign shop as my day time job :D

Cracka

Ahaaa, so FCX is your 'Hobby' so to speak. How do you find the time.....I just assumed it was your full time job

Once again, sorry to the OP for going way off track :oops2:

I started FCX a year ago originally as a 'platform' to sell all the Land Rover crap that I had accumulated in the garage, of course one thing led to another and now I am converting a barn at home to move the sign company and FCX in together at the end of this year

Yeah, sorry LoveB, hope you don't mind:angel:

Wow Matt, that's one huuuuge garage sale:D Its obviously come a long way in a year.

I just had a look in the General Forum, The Verandah, its specifically for vendors there if you needed.

LoveB
1st March 2013, 08:37 PM
yeah no worries. its nice to have someone of fcx's caliber on my thread. lol love the leatherwork!

1st March 2013, 08:45 PM
Thank you, that is very kind :TakeABow:

Although technically I am a commercial seller, to be honest Land Rovers and specifically Defenders are a passion (some say an illness) of mine and I'll talk about them until the cows come home and don't mind if I don't sell anything !

Happy FCX leather pics. Not too much of a statement, no overkill, just right:BigThumb:
