I am trying to find where I can buy a workshop manual for my MY2010 Defender.
Plenty of places, including this forum have CDs but I would prefer a hardcopy manual. Something I can have in the truck when I am doing things.
Any clues ?

I started to hard copy my Puma workshop manual when I first downloaded it a couple of years ago, then gave up. Your rear storage area may be able to contain the folders of A4 paper it involves. the old TDI 2 manual thing is long gone,I'm sorry to say. It would take about 4-5 A4 files to fit the Puma manual, unless you have very very good eyesight:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

as above, new manuals are american friendly and thus have lots of pretty pictures.
besides the Ford Defender falls into the class of vehicle that is ment to be part swap repaired, not "fixed"

Don't blame me I didn't start it :wasntme:. I just fully support, condone and encourage the use of the precedent naming convention.

I'd be interested in the hard copy for my 2012 model if one even exists?
I've got soft copies of the 1000+ pages for my Nissan 300zx, which is cumbersome, but when you are swinging a spanner, I'd always prefer to turn a page with grubby hands then use the mouse.
On my other FSM's, the fingerprints are like the bookmarks for all the sections that I've worked on!
Although, It would be good to see if someone has a new link for the electronic copies.

To the OP...
Printing it out isn't that hard.
First, save it as a PDF, keep it on a USB stick.
I printed mine onto A4, landscape, print on both sides and did it like a book. The colour pictures of the relevant elements are superb, although I do fined the way it's indexed appalling and hard to find the page that I want...but hey ho, it's all in there.
I printed mine out at work then took it to OfficeWorks for hole punching and binding but they messed up the position of the holes so they printed it all again for me for free. Jolly good of them. It lives in the car and has come to my rescue on plenty of occasions when I wasn't able to access a soft copy....includes notes and also contains some interesting soil/ dust/ dirt/ oil/ grease samples from various repairs I've needed for while in the bush.

Have you tried Pitstop bookshop? I got a manual for my '86 County from them. Had to go to the Isuzu dealer for 4BD1 books. Pitstop's book covered the pommy versions.

Another option is the Haynes manual I just bought off eBay for about $35. Cheap print quality, but has some useful info.

I modified the 2012+ workshop manual to include bookmark tabs and clickable links on the title pages to their respective pages. I found this was the biggest usability issue with the copies that float around 'online'.
If anyone was interested, I'll work thru the 2007-2012 manual to include this functionality.
IMO, the electronic version trumps the printed (in contradiction to my earlier post). When info is easy to search, the power is in your hands to resolve almost ANY issue. Realistically, I've had a vehicle with operational batteries and a charged smartphone on my most remote trips, whereas I cannot see the value in lugging around 1/2 a rheem of paper for 'just in case'. For trouble shooting, you've got more chance with a nanocom or similar, the LR wiring diagram, electrical reference manual, and the Diagnostic Trouble Codes that you'd have with a month of Sundays with a multimeter and dumb luck. As for major mechanical failures, you'll be stuffed 9 times out of 10 unless your 'spares kit' includes a Dakar truck as tail-end charlie...
Chuck a like or thanks below if a clickable .PDF would be of interest, and I could be motivated to spend the 6hrs modding the pdf page by page...
